Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What time should we arrive at the wedding?

We recommend arriving at 16h00 to ensure you're settled in and ready for the celebration. The ceremony will start promptly at 16h30, so please aim to be on time.

2. What is the weather like in Rome in September?

September in Rome is typically warm and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 24°C in the evenings to 32°C during the day. It’s one of the best months to visit, as the summer heat starts to subside, and the city is still bustling with energy. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing for the daytime and bringing a light jacket or sweater for the cooler evenings.

3. What is the dress code for the wedding?

The dress code for our wedding is formal. We kindly ask all guests to dress appropriately for the occasion. As the ceremony will take place in a church, shoulders and knees must be covered.

For women: Please avoid wearing black or white dresses, as these colors are traditionally reserved for other occasions and the bride in Italy. The reception venue has a beautiful outdoor area with small gravel on the ground, so we recommend avoiding stilettos unless you're comfortable walking on them.

4. What is the best way to get to the Church?

The ceremony will take place at San Giorgio in Velabro, a beautiful church located in the heart of Rome. Below are the best options for getting there:

  • By Foot: If you’re staying in central Rome, the church is within walking distance from many popular landmarks, such as the Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia. Walking around Rome is one of the best ways to explore the city and take in its charm!

  • By Public Transport:

    • Metro: The closest metro station is Colosseo (Line B), which is about a 15-minute walk to the church.

    • Bus: Several bus lines stop nearby, including routes 60, 75, and 87. Be sure to check local schedules for specific stops and times. Please note that buses are not always reliable.

  • By Taxi or Ride-sharing: Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are available throughout the city. If you prefer this option, simply request a ride to San Giorgio in Velabro. Please note that due to the high amount of tourists during the Jubilee year, we advise reserving a ride well in advance to make sure you arrive on time

  • By Car: There is limited parking in the area, so we recommend using public transportation or taxis to avoid the hassle of finding parking.

5. What is the best way to get to the Wedding Party?

If you are coming by car, Villa Piccolomini has enough parking space for everyone.

If you don’t have a car, we’ve arranged transportation to make getting to the reception easier for everyone. After the ceremony, there will be transport to take guests from the church to the reception venue.

At the end of the wedding party, from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM, there will be shuttles and a bus available to bring guests who don’t have a car back to the Historic Centre of Rome, near the church. This will ensure everyone has a safe and convenient way to get back to their accommodations.

If you don’t have a car and would like to use this arranged transport, we kindly request that you let us know in the RSVP form.

6. Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Photos are absolutely allowed, and we encourage you to capture memories of the ceremony. However, we also invite everyone to take a moment to truly enjoy the ceremony and be present in the experience. There will be professional photographers capturing the special moments, and we’ll be happy to share the images with you afterward.
